We are the first in-person postpartum care retreat in the Pacific Northwest, located at the boutique luxury Lodge at St. Edward Park Hotel in Kenmore. The retreat operates year-round, offering a sanctuary for families from 2 days to 12 weeks postpartum.

Role Summary:

The Postpartum Care Professional III at Yuzi Care will be responsible for daily care and support for postpartum parents and their newborns. This role ensures smooth operations and creates a welcoming environment for guests. We are looking to hire hourly postpartum care nursing professionals, to enhance our guest experience. Applicants should be passionate about infant and postpartum care, exhibit patience and professionalism, and have a team player mentality. A variety of schedules are available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a leader in postpartum care to other Yuzi team members.
  • Newborn Care: Provide comprehensive newborn care, including diapering, soothing, bathing, bottle feeding, and sterilization of equipment. Help parents build confidence in newborn care by providing hands-on demonstrations, guidance and validation. Offer evidenced-based guidance, as well as emotional support on breastfeeding / chestfeeding, latching, positioning, and other common feeding challenges.
  • Postpartum Support: Offer support for postpartum parents, including personal care assistance, ambulation, and assisting team members with tasks. Educate families on postpartum recovery, physical, physiological, and emotional changes and provide a judgment-free and empathic space to express their feelings.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in conjunction with onsite housekeeping staff.
  • Documentation: Document infant care activities (feeding, sleeping, and changing schedules) and family support activities in the Yuzi system.
  • Wellness Classes: Lead group instruction on common infant and self-care techniques (e.g., babywearing) and assist other instructors in specialized programming as appropriate.
  • Supply Management: Ensure a well-stocked facility and notify appropriate channels of low supplies.
  • Guest Experience: Go above and beyond to ensure our Yuzi families have an incredible experience.
  • Experience in postpartum care, labor and delivery, and/or newborn care is preferred but not required. Applicants must possess a willingness to learn how to provide postpartum care to families. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license or state ID and a copy of a clear and current background check.
  • Active Basic Life Support certification for the infant, pediatrics, and adult populations.
  • Able to provide proof of flu, COVID-19, and Tdap immunizations and remain up to date.
  • Must have earned certification from an accredited program and maintain an active license with the state of Washington.
  • Be in good standing with the state board of nursing or other relevant professional association boards and remain current on any necessary continuing education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in postpartum or infant care is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping new mothers and their families. Willingness to learn how to provide postpartum care to families.
  • Fluent in another language.
  • Certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Adult Advanced Life Support, not required but preferred.
  • Lactation certification (CLC, CLE, or IBCLC), not required but preferred.
