Yuzi believes that mothers and families deserve better. We are opening the first in-person postpartum care retreat in May 2024, located at the boutique luxury Lodge at St. Edward Park Hotel in Kenmore. This retreat is designed to operate year-round, offering a sanctuary for families from 2 days to 6 weeks postpartum.

Yuzi is looking for a part-time nurse to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at our postpartum retreat center at the Lodge at St. Edward Park in Kenmore, Washington. Applicants need to be able to work in a start-up environment which includes a flexible attitude, willingness to learn on the job training, and basic computer literacy skills (Microsoft word, PowerPoint, electronic charting systems, etc).

Responsibilities and qualifications include:

  1. Serve as a resource, expert, and coach to on-site staff (doulas, CNAs).
  2. Learn, demonstrate and help improve standard operating procedures.
  3. Ensure adherence to all safety, security, and standard operating procedures.
  4. Providing judgment-free listening, education, and validation for postpartum families.
  5. Provide and support with newborn care, including feeding (breastfeeding support, bottle-feeding), diapering, soothing techniques, etc.
  6. Document infant care activities (feeding, sleeping, and changing schedule) and family support activities in the Yuzi charting system.
  7. Offer evidence-based information and practical guidance on breastfeeding techniques to include but not limited to positioning, latch, and troubleshooting common breastfeeding challenges, provide emotional support and encouragement to overcome breastfeeding obstacles and establish a positive breastfeeding relationship.
  8. Lead one-on-one and small group workshops / demonstrations as needed for families on infant care and postpartum recovery.
  9. Ensure a clean and well-stocked facility.
  10. Go above and beyond to make the Yuzi guest experience as wonderful as possible.


  1. Must have an active Registered Nurse License with the state of Washington.
  2. Must have earned a BSN from an accredited university.
  3. Must have at least one year experience in postpartum and/or labor and delivery with experience assisting with lactation, newborn education, postpartum education, as well as postpartum and newborn care.
  4. At least two references.
  5. Be in good standing with the state board of nursing and able to pass a background check.
  6. Active Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
  7. Able to provide proof of flu, COVID-19, and Tdap immunizations and remain up-to-date.
  8. At least two references are required.


  1. Charge nurse experience.
  2. Lactation certification (CLC, CLE, or IBCLC)
  3. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  4. Fluency in additional languages.
